Your Thoughts: Priest and Skeletons

December 12, 2009 Comments off

Hey guys,

Thanks for all your feedback on the Jade Vine! We’ve been mulling it over in our padded cell and we’ll probably still be discussing it a few weeks before the update’s due to go live.

We appreciate your concerns about Zamorak being a bit wimpy. One of the thoughts we’re toying with would be to make the skeleton an 8 point warrior as opposed to the 15 point Skirmisher it currently is. We think this might make Skeletons and Necromancers a bit more competitive in the early game.

Saradomists take note! We’ve been scouring the forums and on the whole we feel that Saradomin is probably one of the best balanced Gods in the game. Some people love him; other people loathe him. That’s a good sign! We are curious though about the priest. Does anyone use him at all? Would it be useful to change the spiritual barrier so that it appears where the priest is at the beginning of his turn? Any previous barrier would also disappear at that point too. That way you wont need to sacrifice him at all!

Let us know what you think on both issues!

Armies of Gielinor: Prestige Feedback

June 6, 2009 1 comment

Thanks, everybody, for your feedback ;)

A recurring theme does seem to be that trinkets aren’t being used, because most players prefer to spend their runes purchasing prestige levels.

A new suggestion, then: we’ll let people do both.

We could make the prestige levels, essentially, free. The three options floating around the Castle at the moment are:

- Prestige levels don’t cost runes, but require you to have either earned or spent a certain number of runes. (This is similar to Evil Yoyo’s idea on page 5)
- Prestige levels don’t cost runes, but require you to have won a certain number of games (perhaps with additional requirements: X FFA games, Y team games, and Z games with trinkets on)
- Prestige levels are cheaper, and each level has a unique requirement attached to it. These are just examples – level 1 might require 20 runes (down from 50) but you also need to have won a game with trinkets on; level 10 requires 5,000 runes (down from 10,000) but you also need to have been awarded all achievements.

Obviously, if we make any such change, we’ll refund existing holders of prestige levels.

So, what are your opinions on this?

- Does making purchases of trinkets and prestige levels no longer mutually exclusive feel like the right approach?
- Which of the options do you prefer? Do you have a different suggestion?
- Do you think that stopping people ‘sacrificing’ trinkets for prestige levels devalues them too much?
- Do we need to do anything to stop players who’ve been ‘refunded’ thousands of runes from blowing them all at once?
